Ketan Agarwal murder: Siya Goyal taken to Lohagad Fort for crime scene reconstruction
Investigators recreated the June 18 murder scene as the probe revealed Siya and Chetan "rehearsed" the crime, searched online for ways to kill Ketan, and deleted chat records
Days after 26-year-old Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal was allegedly pushed to his death from Lohagad Fort, his fiancée Siya Goyal was taken to the hilltop on Sunday (June 28) to reconstruct the crime and determine how the murder unfolded.
According to police, the exercise is aimed at verifying the accused’s version of events and documenting the sequence of the alleged murder on June 18.
Police recreate crime scene
“Siya was taken to the spot at Lohagad Fort from where she, along with Chetan Chaudhary, allegedly pushed Agarwal to death. Chetan will be taken to the fort separately,” a senior official of the Pune rural police said. During the crime scene recreation, the accused’s claims about how and from where Agarwal was pushed off will be verified, he added.

According to police, the process involves recreating the entire chain of events at the site, including the movements and actions of the accused on the day of the incident. Police are recording the crime scene reconstruction. Investigators are examining how the accused reached the fort, their positioning during the incident, and the sequence in which events unfolded.
Police uncover murder rehearsal
Meanwhile, investigators have found that Siya and Chetan had searched online for ways to kill him. Police said the two had visited the fort by themselves before the murder to “rehearse” the crime. They had also prepared and practised what they would tell police in case they were questioned after the incident.
The investigation also found that Siya and Chetan had planned to disguise themselves during the murder in an attempt to avoid suspicion.
Earlier reports said the two had systematically deleted their entire chat history and cleared their phones’ recycle bins before and after the crime. Their mobile phones have since been sent to a forensic laboratory to recover the deleted chat records, officials said.
Family seeks justice for Ketan
A candlelight march was taken out in the housing society in Gahunje on Saturday, where the family of Ketan Agarwal lives, with his father making an emotional appeal to the people who had visited the fort on June 18, the day of his son’s murder.
“Some people are messaging us, saying they were present at the fort, but they are not approaching the police. I urge all of them to come forward and help us get justice for Ketan. I assure them they will not face any problems,” Vishal Agarwal said. “We will continue to fight until we get justice for our son,” he added.
Wedding prompted murder plot
Goyal and Chaudhary have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill Agarwal and pushing him off Lohagad Fort in Pune district.

Siya has allegedly told police that she did not want to marry Agarwal, and hence plotted with Chaudhary to kill him as she thought calling off the wedding would bring disrepute to the family.
Investigators are probing various aspects of the case, including the planning of the alleged crime, the movements of the accused before and after the incident, their digital footprint, and the motive behind the murder, a senior police official said.
