Congress 'guarantees' in Maharashtra will help fight ‘BJP inflation’: Rahul
Rahul announced Rs 3,000 a month to one woman in every family, and free bus travel for women
In a stinging attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday (November 9) said his party’s election pledges will give voters strength to fight "BJP-induced inflation and unemployment".
In a post on X, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha also dared Modi to go around Karnataka and find out for himself if the “guarantees” of his party had helped people improve their lives or not.

The Congress, he said, had fulfilled all its promises in Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, and that the INDIA alliance will bring changes in Maharashtra too.
Modi and ‘free revdi’
Rahul said: "In July 2022, Modi misled the country by calling Congress' public welfare schemes 'free revdi'. Yet they are campaigning in every state by pasting their slips on the guarantees given by the Congress -- and then levelling false allegations against the Congress for not fulfilling its promises.
“Modiji, our challenge is, come to Karnataka, roam around and see, investigate -- we have fulfilled every promise. Congress schemes in Karnataka have changed the fate of crores of women, youth, farmers and the poor.

“We have also fulfilled promises in Telangana and Himachal. And now in Maharashtra too, INDIA is going to bring big changes with its five guarantees," he said
‘BJP-induced inflation’
The tweet added: "These schemes will give people the strength to fight BJP-induced inflation and unemployment - their standard of living will improve - their access to good education and nutrition will increase.”
“INDIA's five guarantees will free every section of Maharashtra from the labyrinth of injustice and provide them a way to live with self-respect."
On November 6, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) announced five guarantees ahead of the Maharashtra polls.
Guarantees in Maharashtra
Rahul announced Rs 3,000 a month to one woman in every family, and free bus travel for women.
The MVA also promised to waive off all farmers' agriculture loans up to Rs 3 lakhs, and to provide Rs 50,000 incentive for regular loan repayments.
An MVA government will also provide health insurance of Rs 25 lakh to all families and essential medicines free from hospitals.
The fifth guarantee is Rs 4,000 a month to the unemployed youth in the state.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are due on November 20.
