CJP to launch ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign on Independence Day, seeks better school infra

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Friday (August 14) announced that it will launch its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign on Independence Day, beginning from Santuk Pimpri village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district, the native village of its founder Abhijeet Dipke. The announcement made through an official release stated that the programme will start at 7.30 am.

Speaking to reporters after returning from Delhi, Dipke said that the campaign would begin with an appeal to local authorities in his village.

“I will commence the 'School Thik Karo' campaign in my village and request the sarpanch there to repair the local government school and make sure that the school has the basic amenities like benches and drinking water,” he added.

Focus on school facilities

Elaborating further, Dipke said CJP teams would travel to villages and encourage residents and sarpanchs to take responsibility for school conditions.

“We have formed teams who will visit villages and request people and sarpanchs to take steps to improve the condition of schools, because we want to get this done with everyone's participation,” he said.

On Tiranga Yatra

As for the Tiranga Yatra attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Dipke said Independence Day rallies were appropriate, but education also deserved attention.

Referring to complaints received by CJP, he said, “Such rallies should take place on the occasion of our Independence Day. But attention should also be given to education because we have been getting videos that show girls complaining that they have to walk seven kilometres to reach their schools and there is no road.”

Appeal to villages

Earlier, while announcing the campaign, Dipke had urged sarpanchs to take the lead in repairing government schools and ensuring that students have access to basic facilities. He has also appealed to parents and residents to inspect schools and report deficiencies to the CJP.

“Kids in villages shouldn't be pleading for basic facilities at school after 80 years of Independence! As a country, we have failed rural kids in the worst possible way. This Independence Day, CJP will launch the 'School Thik Karo' campaign to improve Govt schools in villages,” he stated in a social media post.

“We want an India where children carry the tricolour to school, not sell it at traffic signals out of poverty,” said Dipke in another post.
