
Who are the nine ministers sworn in with Vijay as Tamil Nadu CM?
Tamil Nadu sees historic shift as Vijay becomes CM with a 9-member cabinet featuring former AIADMK leader KA Sengottaiyan, strategist Aadhav Arjuna and other key MLAs
Actor-turned-politician Vijay has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu along with his nine-member cabinet, marking a historic moment in the state’s politics and signalling a major shift after decades of Dravidian party dominance.
Among the prominent faces in the cabinet who took oath in Chennai was veteran AIADMK leader KA Sengottaiyan, who has worked closely with former chief ministers MGR and Jayalalithaa over decades. Another key induction is Aadhav Arjuna, considered one of Vijay's trusted strategists and part of the party's inner circle.
Among others are N Anand, Dr KG Arunraj, P Venkataramanan, R Nirmalkumar, Rajmohan, Dr TK Prabhu, and Selvi S Keerthana.
1. KA Sengottaiyan
Former Tamil Nadu Minister and TVK candidate KA Sengottaiyan has secured a win in the Gobichettipalayam constituency in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, successfully defending his stronghold.
Despite shifting his lifelong political allegiance from the AIADMK to the TVK in late 2025, the veteran leader maintained his grip on the seat he has now represented nine times. Sengottaiyan also serves as the Chief Coordinator of the TVK Executive Committee.
2. Aadhav Arjuna
Aadhav Arjuna is a political strategist, philanthropist and sports administrator from Tamil Nadu. He is the MLA from Villivakkam Assembly constituency in Chennai.
He also served as the general secretary for Election Campaign Management of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), making him the highest-ranking party official after Vijay and general secretary N Anand. He is also the president of the Basketball Federation of India.
3. N Anand
N Anand is popularly known as Bussy Anand, and is the general secretary of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
He is the MLA from Thiyagarayanagar Assembly constituency in Chennai. He previously served as an MLA from the Bussy constituency in the Union Territory of Puducherry. He has been a prominent spokesperson for the party.
4. KG Arunraj
KG Arunraj is an Indian politician, former civil servant, and physician from Tamil Nadu. He is an MLA from Tiruchengode constituency in Namakkal district, having won the seat in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Prior to contesting the election, he served as general secretary (policy and propaganda) of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Before entering politics, he was an officer in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), holding the ranks of Joint Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Income Tax.
5. Rajmohan
TVK’s Rajmohan, a television and film personality known for his oratory skills, won the Egmore seat by a modest margin.
He secured 53,901 votes, defeating DMK’s Tamilan Prasanna, who polled 43,097 votes. AIADMK’s Abishek R finished third with 18,191 votes. In the 2021 Assembly elections, I Paranthamen (DMK) won the seat with 68,832 votes. In 2016, KS Ravichandran (DMK) secured victory with 55,060 votes.
6. P Venkataramanan
P Venkataramanan is the treasurer of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and is a practising advocate in Saidapet, Tamil Nadu.
He is an MLA from Mylapore Assembly constituency in Chennai district. He has also been the manager of Vijay since 2000. He became an MLA for the first time, winning the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election from Mylapore Assembly constituency, representing Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. He defeated the incumbent Dha. Velu of the DMK, by a margin of 28,972 votes.
7. TK Prabhu
TK Prabhu is a politician and dentist from Tamil Nadu.
He is the elected Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Karaikudi assembly constituency in Sivaganga district, having won in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
8. S Keerthana
S Keerthana (29), the youngest among the ministers, is a politician from Tamil Nadu.
She became an MLA for the first time, winning her debut 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election from Sivakasi constituency representing the TVK party. She defeated her nearest rival, Ashokan G of the Congress, by a margin of 11,670 votes.
9. R Nirmalkumar
R Nirmalkumar is a politician from Tamil Nadu. He is the elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Thirupparankundram Assembly constituency in Madurai district, having won in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
A former BJP functionary, Nirmalkumar switched political camps and emerged as an important face for TVK in southern Tamil Nadu.
