In his post related to the April 22 Pahalgam incident, which led to the death of 26 tourists by Pakistani terrorists, Murugan wondered why no action was taken to prevent the bloodbath, though there was prior intelligence.

According to a complaint filed by the assistant inspector of Thatchanallur, many of his posts contained false information that allegedly incited religious tensions and acted against the sovereignty of India.

Police case filed

Based on this complaint, the police have registered a case against Murugan under two sections: acting against Indian sovereignty and spreading false information.

The police say they are monitoring all social media posts related to Indian Army operations and the India–Pakistan conflict.
