TN CM Stalin returns from US, hints at Cabinet reshuffle
Asked if there would be a reshuffle in the Cabinet, Stalin, surrounded by his ministers, said: “DMK is a party which does what it says. We will do what we say.”
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday (September 14) hinted at a Cabinet reshuffle in his government, saying “change was the only constant”.
Stalin told the media in Chennai upon his arrival from the United States that the DMK sticks to its words – a reference to his earlier statement on a reshuffle of the council of ministers.
Stalin’s ‘yes’ to cabinet changes
Asked if there would be a reshuffle in the state Cabinet, Stalin, surrounded by his ministers, said: “The DMK is a party which does what it says. We will do what we say.”
He said as the DMK prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary, “I am confident the situation you (media) expect will arise.”
Even before Stalin left for the United States, expectations ran high that the Cabinet would see a reshuffle and that his son and minister Udhayanidhi Stalin would be made the deputy chief minister.
Tamil Nadu and NEP
Stalin also said he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) and to get funds for Tamil Nadu, including for the Metro Rail Project II.
Responding to the Centre’s condition that the state would get funds only if it implemented the NEP, he said the Tamil Nadu school education minister and officials had already held discussions with the Centre.
