Amit Shah to visit Tamil Nadu, Puducherry on August 8, 9
The Home Minister will attend official and public programmes and offer prayers at prominent temples in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
A high-level security review has been conducted ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's two-day visit to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Shah is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu on August 8 and Puducherry on August 9, officials said on Friday (August 7).
During his visit, the Home Minister will attend official and public programmes and offer prayers at prominent temples in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Home Minister’s agenda
On Saturday (August 8), Shah will visit Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu. He is scheduled to offer prayers at the Sri Ramana Maharshi Ashram, followed by darshan and puja at the Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar temple, the officials said.

The minister will be in Puducherry on Sunday (August 9). He will attend the presentation of the 'President's Colour' to Puducherry Police at the Puducherry Police Ground.
Later in the day, Shah will inaugurate the 'Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra' at Murugaa Theatre Signal, the officials said.
Security arrangements
A high-level Central security team has completed a comprehensive audit of all venues, travel routes, and protocols ahead of the visit. The Home Minister receives Z-plus security protection from elite units like the National Security Guard (NSG) and local police commands and a multi-layered security grid has been established across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

As part of the preparations, a specialised Central team conducted a multi-department security review meeting at the Puducherry Airport on Thursday (August 6) to finalise the protocols for the visit.
