Kerala-based apparel firm decides to stop supply of uniforms to Israeli police amid war

The company contended that it “morally disagreed with the approach of bombing and killing innocent people, including hospitals”

A Kerala-based apparel company, supplying nearly 1 lakh uniforms to the Israeli police, has decided not accept orders from the strife-torn country now, until peace is restored. The decision came amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas War.

The company contended that it “morally disagreed with the approach of bombing and killing innocent people, including hospitals”. The firm also said that it would fulfill all previous commitments made to the Israeli police force and was hopeful that peace would be restored soon.

Headed by Malayali Thomas Olickal, the Kannur firm has been involved with the manufacturing and packaging of all uniforms in the manufacturing unit since 2008. It has been providing uniforms to the Israeli police since 2015.

According to the details, the particular firm had also manufactured uniforms worn by the Philippine Army, Qatar Air Force, Qatar Police, British American security companies and hospital uniforms.
