Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, shared a video of the oversized dosa on X (Formerly Twitter) and recommended 'Chutney Maami' in Kilimanoor in Thiruvananthapuram district to food lovers. He said he generally does not advocate travelling solely for a culinary experience, but his grandson’s recent visit to the restaurant had made him reconsider.
Anand Mahindra’s X post
Mahindra said his grandson, who is visiting him and is a “dosa fanatic”, would have enjoyed sharing the dish with the family. “But I have to say, I'd love to be able to teleport the family to 'Chutney Maami' for grabbing this Sunday bite together,” he wrote.
Unable to resist adding a technology twist, Mahindra suggested that food delivery platforms could one day explore interstate drone deliveries. “Or perhaps Swiggy or Zomato could start an inter-state drone delivery service...(yes, yes, I know the Dosa will wilt.. but who knows?),” he posted.
About Chutney Maami
Located in Kilimanoor, about 39 kilometres from Kerala's capital city Thiruvananthapuram, 'Chutney Maami' is a vegetarian restaurant serving South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, chutneys, sambar and filter coffee. The restaurant also has a village-inspired ambience and focuses on traditional preparations.
Its main attraction is the ‘Bahubali Dosa’, an enormous dosa that stretches across the length of a table. Priced at around Rs 500, it is served with an assortment of chutneys, sambar, payasam and vada and is typically large enough to serve four to five people.

The name ‘Bahubali Dosa’ draws inspiration from filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster Baahubali franchise. Following the popularity of the films, restaurants and street-food vendors across India began using the name for oversized or extravagantly served dishes, evoking the larger-than-life scale associated with the films.
