Cauvery water issue: Shivarajkumar, Darshan take part in protest as Kannada actors back bandh

The Kannada film industry on Friday (September 29) came out in support of a bandh to oppose the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, with theatres across the state cancelling their shows.

Actors Shivarajkumar, Darshan, 'Duniya' Vijay and Dhruva Sarja were among those who took part in the protest near the Sri Gururaja Kalyana Mantapa.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced support for the day-long general strike.

Theatres across the state axed the shows till evening after the Karnataka Film Exhibitors Association backed the call for a shutdown.
