Karnataka SIR: EC revises schedule, BLO house visits to continue till August 17

The draft electoral roll will be published on August 24, followed by the period for filing claims and objections from August 24 to September 23


Bengaluru, Aug 7 (PTI) The EC on Friday revised the schedule for the SIR of electoral rolls in Karnataka, fixing October 1 as the qualifying date.

According to a press note issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka, the house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), which began on June 30, will now continue till August 17, while rationalisation and re-arrangement of polling stations will also be taken up on August 17.

The draft electoral roll will be published on August 24, followed by the period for filing claims and objections from August 24 to September 23.

The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue from August 24 to October 22.

The final electoral roll will be published on October 27, the press note said.
