Karnataka: Delhi-based journalist, two other women killed in road accident in Tumakuru
In the bus accident, three women died on the spot, including a woman journalist from NewsX, while the injured have been admitted to a government hospital
Three women, including a Delhi-based journalist, died and several people were injured when a bus from Goa crashed into a divider on the Chikkanahalli flyover in Sira Taluk in Tumakuru in Karnataka, in the early hours of Monday (December 2).
Police said, the bus carrying about 30 passengers was heading towards Bengaluru when the accident occurred at around 4.30 am.
Three women died on the spot, police said, adding that the injured were admitted to Sira Government Hospital, police added. The deceased have been identified as Urvi Nayan (28) from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; Priyanka Mandal (26) from Kolkata, West Bengal; and Shubhali Singh (26).

Among them, Urvi was a journalist based in Delhi and worked as a reporter for News X, according to sources. All three were reportedly traveling from Goa to Bengaluru. The identities of two other victims are yet to be confirmed.
Ankint Singh (30), an employee of TCS Bengaluru, sustained serious injuries. District Superintendent of Police K.V. Ashok and other officers visited the site and conducted an inspection.
The bus belonged to Sun Riser Travels, which was coming from Goa to Bengaluru when the mishap occurred on National Highway-48.
