Bengaluru 7 murders: Accused drove around with boy, parents’ bodies in car
The 11-year-old survivor told police how Indusekhar took him on a long drive with his parents' bodies packed in bags, while allegedly carrying and selling their stolen jewellery
The murder of seven members of a family within Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar police station limits has taken a chilling turn as the investigation unfolds. Police say the prime accused, Indusekhar, who allegedly killed his own relatives, travelled hundreds of kilometres with an 11-year-old boy in a car carrying the dismembered bodies of the boy’s parents, Shankar and Nalini.
The boy’s account
The boy, who survived the massacre, has recounted the events of that night to the police.
“I went to Indusekhar’s house with my parents, had dinner and went to bed. When I woke up on Saturday morning, my father was not there,” he said.

As he got ready to leave with his mother, a woman in the house pulled him into a room and locked the door. “Then I heard my mother screaming from outside, ‘Leave me alone.’ Then there was complete silence. I was trembling in the room, not knowing what had happened to my mother,” he told the police.
Journey with the killer
After allegedly killing Nalini, the accused opened the door and calmly took the boy to the car. Plastic and gunny bags had been stuffed under the bumper and beneath the seat.
“When I asked what they were, he said they were household garbage bags. If I tried to touch them, he would scold me angrily,” the boy told the police.
The child had no idea that his parents’ bodies were inside the bags beneath the seat he was sitting on. Police said the accused drove him in the same car to several places, including Kukke Subrahmanya, Dharmasthala and Sringeri.
Indusekhar allegedly stripped his victims of their gold ornaments after killing them, police said. He allegedly suffocated his wife Sunita, mother-in-law Roopvathi, and Nalini before removing their gold chains, bangles and earrings. Some of the ornaments were bloodstained and were reportedly washed by him before he took them away.
Jewellery sold to fund escape
He told the police that he sold some of the jewellery to shops in Bengaluru and spent the money on personal expenses. He kept the remaining pieces in his trouser pocket.

Police said he was driving the bodies, packed in plastic bags, towards forest areas such as Chikkaballapur and Salem in Tamil Nadu when the car ran out of diesel.
With no cash left, he allegedly pawned the jewellery he had in his pocket along the way and used the money to buy fuel. Rajajinagar police have contacted the jewellery shop owners and begun the process of recovering the ornaments.
