TDP fought for public causes for 45 years: CM Chandrababu Naidu at Mahanadu
At the opening of TDP’s Mahanadu 2026 conclave, Chandrababu Naidu said the party continues to enjoy public support and highlighted its 45-year political journey
TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday (May 27) said that the party has enjoyed steadfast support of the people of Andhra Pradesh over the years, adding that it continues to fight for public interest regardless of the odds.
Addressing the first day of TDP’s annual conclave 'Mahanadu' at the party's central office in Mangalagiri, Naidu highlighted the party's 45-year legacy of championing public causes.
45 years of political struggle
“Over the years, people’s support for TDP has not diminished. For 45 years, TDP has been fighting for public issues. It did not back down even in the face of attacks, violence, murderous politics, fake cases and harassment,” the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said at the two-day-long conclave of the party, which started on Wednesday.

Reflecting on the challenges faced during the previous YSRCP regime, Naidu said he was arrested illegally while TDP working president Nara Lokesh’s padayatra Yuvagalam (political walkathon) was blocked back then.
However, he said people blessed TDP and entrusted it with the mandate to govern once again.
According to him, TDP is a university which creates leaders and Rs 160 crore was spent for the welfare of party activists.
Mahanadu shifts to virtual mode
The conclave is being held in a virtual format, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel amidst the West Asia conflict.
Though originally scheduled to be held in Nellore, the three-day event was shortened to two days.

“This year’s two-day Mahanadu, scheduled for May 27 and 28, will be conducted virtually from party central office, Mangalagiri, following a decision aligning with the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on fuel conservation in view of the ongoing West Asia conflict,” said a press release from TDP on Tuesday.
Mahanadu is organised annually to mark the birth anniversary of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder president NT Rama Rao (NTR).
Statewide participation plan
Party leaders and cadres across the state have been instructed to organise Mahanadu at the cluster level.
Arrangements are being made for cluster-wise virtual participation across the southern state, with large LED screens being installed at over 1,800 cluster locations to ensure a festive atmosphere during Mahanadu - 2026.
Members of the Politburo, national committee and state committee leaders will participate directly from the party central office, where all arrangements have been completed, said the release.
