Lucknow: Woman dragged on bonnet after confronting husband
A woman was allegedly hit and carried on the bonnet of a car after confronting the driver near Janeshwar Mishra Park; police have detained him
A woman was allegedly hit by a car near Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow in what appears to be a family dispute.
The victim, identified as Anamika, was allegedly dragged on the bonnet of a white sedan after she confronted the driver and an argument broke out. The driver, identified as Shahnawaz, is reportedly her husband. Anamika had confronted him after allegedly spotting him with another woman, who was also reportedly in the car.
Initial probe
According to investigating officers, the altercation began after Anamika saw Shahnawaz at a tea shop with another woman. She allegedly tried to stop the car when the argument escalated, following which Shahnawaz accelerated the vehicle, hitting her and carrying her on the bonnet.

A viral video shows Anamika, dressed in a white top and black trousers, hitting the bonnet of the car as she is carried along. She can be heard screaming and is eventually thrown onto the road. She sustained injuries in the incident, following which a crowd gathered at the spot.
The car allegedly fled the scene after Anamika fell off the bonnet. Police are also examining a claim that the car was driven towards her again before the driver fled.
Car seized, driver detained
Soon after the video went viral, police traced and detained Shahnawaz. Officers are examining CCTV footage from the Gomti Nagar Extension area to establish the precise sequence of events.
Police have also seized the car for forensic and technical examination. Anamika has been taken to a local medical facility for a formal forensic examination of her injuries.

The incident comes days after a white sedan allegedly hit a woman biker on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, raising fresh concerns over the safety of women on the road. The accused Kalyan Bainsla and his cousin Lovneesh have been charged with ‘attempt to murder’ in connection with the case.
