UP: 11-year-old boy ‘sacrificed’ for school’s prosperity; 5 arrested

The boy, a Class 1 student was allegedly strangled to death as part of a human sacrifice ritual to bring prosperity to the school; the school's owner believed in 'tantra' practices

In a shocking and bizarre incident, a 11-year-old Class 1 student was killed as part of an alleged 'human sacrifice' ritual to enable the school to prosper and prevent financial ruin, in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras.

The owner and director of the DL Public School, who were allegedly involved in the crime, along with the principal and two teachers have been arrested.

According to the police, on September 23, the student Kritarth was abducted from the school's hostel by two teachers and the school owner Jasodhan Singh.

The owner Singh believed in 'tantra' practice and had asked his son Dinesh Baghel to sacrifice a child for the prosperity of the school and his family. They took the student to a secluded place near a tubewell for the sacrifice but the student woke up and began to cry. That is when the accused strangled the boy, the police told the media.

Meanwhile, the five accused told the child's parents that Kritarth was unwell and he was being taken to a hospital in one of the teacher's cars. The child's parents followed the car and finally caught up with them and found Kritarth's body. The post-mortem report showed that the boy had been strangled.

During the police investigation, the accused told the police that the student was killed as part of a 'sacrifice' for the school and the owner's family to prosper.

The Hathras Superintendent of Police, Nipun Aggarwal, confirmed the arrest of five persons in connection with the crime. Further, he added that the child was strangled with the intent to bring prosperity to the school and secure its future.
