Samarth Singh, who had been absconding for 10 days, is expected to surrender before a Jabalpur court
In a major breakthrough in the case related to the death of Twisha Sharma, her husband, Samarth Singh, is reportedly set to surrender before the Jabalpur District Court on Friday (May 22). He has been on the run for the last 10 days.
Bail plea withdrawn
According to a report in India Today, his lawyer, Jaydeep Kaurav, earlier told the Madhya Pradesh High Court that Samrath was willing to surrender immediately before the police as he wanted to make the arrangements for his wife’s funeral.

Later in the day, he withdrew his anticipatory bail application plea from the single bench of the high court comprising Justice Avanindra Kumar Singh, Kaurav said.
With the withdrawal of the application, Singh was left with no other option but to surrender.
The anticipatory bail application was filed before the high court on Thursday after a subordinate court turned down his plea last week.
Mother gets relief
Singh's mother Giribala Singh, a retired district and sessions judge and current chairperson of the Bhopal Consumer Court, was granted anticipatory bail last week by a Bhopal court.
She is named in the FIR registered in the death case.

Twisha Sharma, 33, was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Bhopal's Katara Hills area on May 12. Her family accused her in-laws of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide, while the Singh family claimed she was addicted to drugs.
Police registered an FIR under Sections 80(2), 85 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act against Samarth Singh and his mother.
Police action and case details
Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to Samarth Singh's arrest and also approached the court seeking revocation of his passport.
"He will surrender immediately. He has to prepare for his wife’s last rites,” said the counsel, adding that he had informed the court that Samrath’s anticipatory bail plea would be withdrawn.
The development comes days after Twisha (33), hailing from Noida, was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12. Following her death, her family alleged that her in-laws subjected her to dowry harassment. However, her in-laws alleged that Twisha was addicted to drugs.
