Woman biker rammed, Kargil veteran attacked: Incidents raise Gurugram safety concerns
A woman biker alleged she was chased and rammed by a car, while a retired Air Force officer accused parking staff of assaulting him
An argument over parking turned violent in Gurugram and a retired Air Force officer was allegedly attacked with an iron rod. The incident came to light a day after a woman biker alleged that she was chased, rammed and left on the road by a car that sped away.
The two separate incidents in Gurugram have raised questions over the city’s roads and public spaces safety.
Kargil war veteran attacked
In the latest case, a retired Indian Air Force Group Captain and Kargil War veteran has accused a parking attendant at Magnum Global Park of assaulting him with an iron rod, leaving him with serious head injuries and a fractured hand.

Police said an FIR has been registered, the accused have been identified through CCTV footage and action will be taken against them as per law.
Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta (retired), who was part of the IAF’s ‘Op Safed Sagar’ team during the 1999 Kargil War, had gone to Magnum Global Park in Sector 65 for a family dinner at Gonzo restaurant on September 10.
Attempt to murder
According to his complaint, Gupta dropped his family at the restaurant around 8pm and went to park his car. He alleged that the parking staff directed him between the valet area, basement and multilevel parking before eventually refusing to park the vehicle.
The situation escalated when Gupta tried to reverse his car. He alleged that one of the attendants struck the windshield before returning with an iron rod.
Gupta alleged that the attendant hit him twice: first on his hand and then on his head. The blow to his head caused heavy bleeding, following which his family took him to Medanta Hospital, where he remains admitted.
He has sought registration of an attempt-to-murder case against the accused and alleged that the attendant also threatened to kill him.

Gurugram ACP Abhilaksh Joshi said an altercation took place between the parking staff and Gupta at Signature Magnum, under the jurisdiction of Sector 65 police station.
Car chased and rammed woman biker
The incident comes to light after a woman biker alleged that she was chased and rammed by a car on Golf Course Road.
The woman, who identifies herself as Sia on Instagram, said she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 with members of her biking group on Sunday (September 13) morning when a white sedan began following her.
She alleged that the occupants appeared to be drunk and repeatedly asked her to stop. “I asked him to drive while maintaining distance. He kept making hand gestures asking me to stop my bike,” she said in a video posted on Instagram.
Incident captured on camera
Sia said the car eventually tried to cut in front of her motorcycle and rammed it before speeding away. The impact threw her off the bike, while the motorcycle was dragged several feet along the road. The incident was captured on cameras mounted on the bikes.
One of her friends later stopped the car at a traffic signal and confronted the driver, but Sia said he denied responsibility and drove away.

“I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren’t afraid of hitting people and running away,” she wrote.
Gurugram Police later took suo motu cognisance of the viral video and registered an FIR, ANI reported, citing police. The accused are yet to be apprehended.
