Gurugram IT professional, wife found dead at home; police suspect murder-suicide
Police suspect Mohammad Aslam killed his wife, Farhana, before dying by suicide. Investigators have recovered a note and electronic devices
An IT professional and his wife were found dead at their Gurugram home after the man’s colleagues received an email asking them to contact his family and landlord. Police suspect Mohammad Aslam, 30, killed his wife Farhana before dying by suicide, but said the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear.
Colleagues alerted landlord after email
The incident took place on Wednesday (October 14). The landlord went to the couple’s flat in Tower 7 of M3M Marina after being contacted by Aslam’s colleagues, reported the Times of India. He found Aslam hanging and Farhana, who was due to turn 28, lying on the floor with an injury mark on her neck.
The email, sent around 7am, reportedly said “we are leaving this world” and included contact numbers for Aslam’s parents and landlord.
Police recover note, electronic devices
Police were alerted soon after. Inside the apartment, officers found a note bearing the words “We are leaving this world”. The words “I love you” had also been scribbled on Farhana’s clothes. The flat’s door was not bolted when police arrived.

An emergency response vehicle reached the apartment around 8 am, followed by a larger police team. Police said the note contained no allegations against anyone.
Murder case registered, autopsies pending
A murder case was registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The bodies were taken to a mortuary and identified by relatives on Friday (October 17). Autopsies were yet to be conducted.

“The couple shared a really close bond. Both were happy with each other and had no marital discord. There was no issue with the family either. But hearing this has left both families in shock,” said Faisal, Farhana’s brother.
Couple moved to Gurgaon three months ago
The couple married in 2023 and lived in Bengaluru for around two years before moving to Gurugram three months ago. Aslam, a Kozhikode native, worked for an Indonesia-based IT company in Sector 58. Farhana, from Malappuram, worked remotely for a Bengaluru-based IT firm.
Relatives said Aslam had been receiving medication and therapy for depression for around 18 months. Faisal said the family suspected work pressure might have contributed, but the couple had not spoken about any serious problems. Police suspect Aslam killed Farhana before taking his own life.
