Nitish sets target for JD(U) workers: Win NDA 220 seats in Bihar polls

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked his Janata Dal (United) to work hard to win more than 200 seats in the Bihar Assembly for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in elections next year.
Nitish Kumar made the plea during a 45-minute speech at the JD(U) state executive meeting, the party's working president Sanjay Kumar Jha told journalists in Patna on Saturday (October 5).
"The chief minister exhorted party workers to reach out to the people and highlight the good work done by the government. He reminded them that the NDA had won 206 seats out of 243 in 2010 and given them a target of 220 for 2025," said Jha.

The JD(U) won 115 seats in 2010 and the BJP bagged 91. This was the best performances by both parties in Bihar.
Jha also said that Nitish Kumar was enthused by the NDA's performance in the Lok Sabha polls, which saw the BJP-led coalition grabbing 30 out of 40 seats in the state.
The chief minister also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for according the special financial status the state had been seeking.

Bharat Ratna for Nitish?
Jha was asked about posters demanding Bharat Ratna for Nitish Kumar.
"I don't know about these. But if such an honour is bestowed upon our leader, it will be a matter of pride for Bihar,” he said.
