Ballon d’Or, the prestigious football award, will be presented tonight (October 30) in Paris with Argentina’s Lione Messi favourite to win the honour for a record eighth time.

Ballon d’Or will be presented in both men and women categories. Besides these two, there are six more awards to be handed over tonight – Yachine Trophy (Best Goalkeeper), Kopa Trophy (Best Under-21 Player), Gerd Muller Trophy (Player who scored most goals for club and national team in a single season), Socrates Award (Will identify the best social initiative by committed champions), and Club of the year (Men and Women).

- Ballon d’Or 2023 will take place at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris from 8:45 PM local time (1:15 AM IST, October 31). TV, streaming coverage in India starts at 11:30 PM IST.
- This year’s ceremony will be the 67th Ballon d’Or award. The first-ever Ballon d’Or award was presented in 1956 and it was won by Stanley Matthews of England.
- Ballon d’Or is presented by French news magazine France Football since 1956. Some of the biggest names in football have won the award with Argentina’s Lionel Messi bagging the honour most times – seven. The next best is Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo with five awards.
- In India, Sony Sports Network (Sony Sports TEN 2 channel) will show the Ballon d’Or 2023 award ceremony live on TV.
