PM Modi dons the hat of lyricist, pens Garba song; watch video

Modi’s prowess as a Garba lyricist came to light when singer Dhvani Bhanushali shared a video rendering of the song on social media

Assuming a new avatar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now become a Garba lyricist who writes songs for Navaratri season. His talent for writing lyrics came to the fore when singer Dhvani Bhanushali on Saturday (October 14) thanked the prime minister for penning the lovely Garba song which composer Tanishk Bagchi has rendered into a dance video.

“Dear @narendramodi Ji, Tanishk Bagchi and I loved Garba penned by you and we wanted to make a song with a fresh rhythm, composition and flavour. @Jjust_Music helped us bring this song and video to life,” wrote singer Bhanushali on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing the lyrical dance video on her handle. The song video has been produced by Jjust Music.

Thanking the singer, Bagchi and Jjust_Music, the Prime Minister on Saturday (October 14) said he had written the song many years ago and is now ready with another Garba song which he will share during Navaratri. “Thank you @dhvanivinod, Tanishk Bagchi and the team of @Jjust_Music for this lovely rendition of a Garba I had penned years ago! It does bring back many memories. I have not written for many years now but I did manage to write a new Garba over the last few days, which I will share during Navratri. #SoulfulGarba,” the prime minister said on X.

During Navratri, people in Gujarat, his home state, organise and take part in Garba, a form of group dance where both men and women dance around the picture of Shakti. This year, the Navratri season will begin on October 15.
