Besides discussing the current political situation and the road ahead for the INDIA alliance, the three leaders chalked out plans for the Opposition bloc's next meeting


NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi met on Friday (October 6) and discussed the road ahead for the Opposition alliance INDIA.

The INDIA alliance, which is gearing up to take on the BJP in the upcoming assembly and genral elections last met in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1.

The Opposition bloc has not met since Mumbai and is likely to do so soon, sources said. Meanwhile, besides discussing the current political situation and the road ahead for the alliance, the three leaders chalked out plans for the next meeting of the INDIA bloc as well.

The discussions of these top leaders of the INDIA alliance come after a joint public meeting of the Opposition bloc to be held in Bhopal in October was cancelled. This meeting could not be held after Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath objected to statements by DMK leaders like Udhayanidhi Stalin against 'Sanatan Dharma', sources said.

Some Opposition leaders are suggesting that INDIA alliance's next meeting be held in West Bengal.
