Khalistani outfits back to threatening Indian diplomats as Canada looks the other way
The posters targeting Indian diplomats posted in the country are back at the Surrey gurdwara two days after they were pulled down
Amid strained ties between India and Canada in the aftermath of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing, there has been no letup in radical Sikh activity against India at British Columbia in Canada.
Now, the posters calling for the assassination of Indian diplomats posted in the country are back at the Surrey gurdwara two days after they were pulled down. The Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara at Surrey was under the management of Khalistan Tiger Force terrorist Nijjar before he was gunned down on June 18, 2023.
Sikhs for Justice founder and Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has also shot off a missive to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, seeking the expulsion of Indian Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Verma. Moreover, Sikh radicals are also spearheading a campaign in British Columbia claiming that Canadian Intelligence has cautioned Sikhs to remain safe as Indian agents are out to assassinate particular members of the community.
This is not all. The radical Sikhs are also planning to hold a “Kill India” car rally outside the Indian Consulate on October 21 to target the Indian Consul General and other staff for the Nijjar killing even as the Canadian police and intelligence look the other way. The October 21 protest is aimed at mobilizing radical support in the name of Nijjar for the so-called referendum on October 28. The referendum is being organised by the Sikh extremists with support from the Pakistani deep state operating in Canada.
As per media reports, Canada is working on a two-pronged strategy, as on one hand, it is fanning a secessionist movement against India in Canada under the garb of freedom of speech and on the other, it is trying hard to create a rift between India and the US by citing the involvement of Indian agencies in Nijjar’s killing.
As Canada shares umbilical ties with the US, the former is making all the effort to defame India while also consolidating its support among radical Sikhs back home with a moderate community having no voice on the issue. Incidentally, a section of Canada and the US-based media is also adding fuel to the fire by projecting Nijjar as a priest even though he was heading the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) in Canada.
