‘Degree holder sells the country’: BJP MP Dubey’s response to Moitra’s ‘fake degree’ jab
The two MPs are slugging it out on social media accusing each other of dishonesty and other improprieties
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey retaliated strongly to TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s jab at him about having fake degrees by saying the question was not about his degree or the Adani group but whether Moitra asked questions in Parliament in return for money.
"The question is about Parliament's decorum, the country’s security, and about the MP's propriety, corruption and criminality. She has to answer if NIC mails were opened in Dubai. Whether questions were asked for money? Who paid for foreign trips? Did she take permission of the Lok Sabha Speaker and External Affairs Ministry for her foreign trips? The question is not about Adani, degree or theft. It is about misleading the country and corruption," Dubey questioned in a post on X on Wednesday (October 25).
He added hashtags of "degree holder sells the country” and "she sold her conscience for money".
Dubey’s response came after Moitra’s post on X on Tuesday evening (October 24), “Who is lying? 2 days ago Fake Degree Wala said NIC already given details including “Dubai” logins to probe agency. Now @AshwiniVaishnaw says NIC will give info in future IF asked by LS or Ethics Comm. BJP welcome to do hit job on me but Adani+Godda perhaps not best strategists!”
The on-going war of words between Mahua Moitra and Nishikant Dubey is about the allegation that the TMC MP received money from the businessman Darshan Hiranandani to raise questions in Parliament about the Adani group. Dubey has written to the Lok Sabha Speaker seeking an investigation into the allegations.
