Both troops busy disengaging at LAC, says China
Indian foreign secretary Vikram Misri said the agreement followed negotiations and that it would lead to a resolution of the issues that arose in 2020
The Chinese and Indian militaries are busy disengaging in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in an orderly manner, the Chinese government said on Wednesday.
The two countries have agreed to resolve issues concerning the border, foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian told the media in Beijing.
“At the moment, the Chinese and Indian frontier troops are implementing the resolutions in an orderly way," he said but declined to provide details.
Eastern Ladakh
India and China began troop disengagement at the two friction points at Demchok and Depsang Plains in eastern Ladakh earlier in October.
The ties between the two Asian giants nosedived following a fierce clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020 that marked the most serious military conflict between them in decades.

On October 23, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping endorsed the agreement on patrolling and disengagement along the LAC in eastern Ladakh when they met in Kazan in Russia.
