BJP video shows all is not well with Rahul and Priyanka; Congress irked
The BJP video conveys that all is not well between the two siblings. It alleges that Rahul, who knows Priyanka is smarter than him deliberately sidelines her
The BJP 's recent video on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, which effectively tries to convey that all is not well between siblings Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, has irked the Congress.
According to the video, the two siblings are locked in a battle and their relationship is not an ordinary one like any brother and sister but is marred by jealousy. The video makes tall claims that Rahul knows that Priyanka is smarter than him and because of that he does not give her any importance in the Congress party. He deliberately sidelines her, said the video. And cites the example of how Priyanka was not spotted at any meetings of the INDIA alliance.
Further, the video talks about how in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, Priyanka Gandhi held over 28 rallies and played a significant role in the party's victory. But Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, ensured the party's defeat in 39 elections, the video pointed out. Still, Rahul Gandhi is given all the credit and he launched Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. It is because of this unfair treatment, Priyanka shook off Rahul's hand at the stage after the Karnataka win. (Incidentally, this clip is played repeatedly)
Missing rakhi
The narrator also alleges that on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a rakhi was missing from Rahul's wrist.
Moreover, the Congress talks of giving Priyanka the tough seat of Varanasi knowing only too well that she will not win against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While Rahul gets a safe seat in Wayanad, knowing that he cannot win against Smriti Irani.
The video said that if Priyanka gets a chance to contest there will be a huge demand to make her a PM aspirant. "Priyanka is faster than Rahul, but the party is dancing to Rahul's tune, and Sonia Gandhi is also fully aligned with him! This is why Priyanka has been absent from the Ghamandiya alliance meetings! Fuming Congress responds
A fuming Congress responded to the video rubbishing the claims made in the video. "Get both your eyes and brain treated. Rahul ji had a rakhi on the day of Raksha Bandhan. In fact, he keeps a rakhi throughout the year," said Congress social media head, Supriya Shrinate, also posting a video where Rahul talks about wearing a rakhi throughout the year.
Hitting out at the 'frustrated' BJP, Shrinate said on X, "BJP Charanchampaks, Your boss left the family and ran away, it doesn't mean that all families are like this! Do talk about the issues sometime - now being frustrated you are spreading lies that Rahul ji did not tie Rakhi. This anger is natural because of the war waged by both the brother and sister against your market of lies and hatred".
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also hit out at the BJP for the video. Sharing the screenshot of the BJP's post, Chaturvedi wrote on X, "The language and the content of this video tweeted by BJP handle, clearly suggests that the script written by Silly Souls Production and produced by Foolish Trolls Company. Must pity the new levels BJP can plumb to for their desperation to be in power."
Sorry...but this dream: Priyanka
Meanwhile, a few days earlier, Priyanka had brushed off similar claims made by Amit Malviya, convenor of BJP IT cell, after he had insuinated that there was rivalry between the siblings. On Raksha Bandhan day, Priyanka responded, “Sorry...but this dream of your petty mind will never come true. My brother and I only have love, trust, respect and loyalty for each other and will remain so forever. By the way, do not panic, we will break the arrogance of your lies, loot and hollow propaganda together with crores of sisters and brothers of the country."
