In a thrilling final, India defeated South Africa by seven runs to clinch the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday, June 29. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, a new record.
Virat Kohli, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya starred in the final that was decided in the last over. India scored 176/7 and kept the Proteas to 169/8.
This was India's second T20 World Cup triumph after winning the inaugural edition in 2007 under MS Dhoni's captaincy.
