India have got 86 medals so far, including 21 gold, 32 silver, and 33 bronze

Renowned Indian squash player Saurav Ghosal secured his second Asian Games men's singles silver medal at Hangzhou 2023. The 37-year-old athlete lost the final 3-1 against Malaysia's Ng Eain Yow, who clinched his first Asian Games men's singles title on Thursday (October 5).

India's Antim Panghal, aged 19, secured the bronze medal in women's freestyle 53kg category by defeating Mongolia's Bolortuya Bat-Ochir with a score of 3-1. Both Panghal and Bat-Ochir had faced losses against world champion Akari Fujinami in earlier rounds.

The Indian men's compound archery team reclaimed their Asian Games title in 2023 by defeating the Republic of Korea 235-230 in the final. This victory came after their previous win in the 2014 edition, a redemption from the defeat suffered against the Republic of Korea in the 2018 final.

In a historic achievement, India's Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu secured the first-ever mixed doubles gold medal in Asian Games history. They triumphed over Malaysia's Aifa Azman and Mohd Syafiq Kamal with an 11-10, 11-10 victory in the final.

Dipika and Harinder clinched the Asian Games 2023 squash mixed doubles title, losing only two games throughout the tournament. This marked Dipika Pallikal's debut Asian Games gold medal, while Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu secured his third at the continental event.

In another thrilling finale at the Asian Games 2023, the Indian archery team secured their second gold medal as the women's compound team narrowly defeated Chinese Taipei with a score of 230-229.

Despite trailing by two points after the first end, India managed to take the lead after a crucial 7-pointer from Chinese Taipei in the second end.

The scores were tied at 171-171 going into the final end, but India outperformed Chinese Taipei by one point, clinching the gold medal in a remarkable display of skill and determination.

Earlier, two-time Olympic medallist Indian shuttler PV Sindhu crashed out in the women's singles quarterfinals, losing in straight games against China's He Bingjiao at the Asian Games here on Thursday.

Sindhu, currently ranked 15th, looked a pale shadow of herself against world No.5 Bingjiao, losing 16-21, 12-21 in just 47 minutes to bow out of the competition.

India has secured an impressive total of 86 medals at the 2023 Asian Games, comprising 21 gold, 32 silver, and 33 bronze.
