
Trump posts AI image of himself as Pope; netizens find it ‘disgusting’

US President Donald Trump has come under intense criticism after he posted an AI-generated image of himself in papal robes, only days after the Pope passed away.
Some social media users found the image offensive and an affront to Christianity. Trump was accused of mocking Pope Francis’ death.
Trump faces flak
“This is disrespectful to the church and God himself… he’s literally the anti-Christ,” one person commented. Another wrote: “This is disgusting and entirely offensive.”
A third person tweeted: “This is extremely disrespectful and narcissistic. Republicans really voted for that.”

Another person added: “How disrespectful to Catholics. That is what Trump and his maggots are all about, disrespect and meanness and stupidity. How dare you mock the process we Catholics go through to pick a new Pope?”
‘I’d like to be Pope’
Some, however, found Trump’s AI-generated image humorous.
Francis was 88 when he died on April 22. Trump was among several world leaders at the Pope's funeral.
Earlier, asked who he would like see succeed Pope Francis, Trump replied: “I’d like to be Pope. That would be my number one choice.”

No new Pope yet
But he quickly added that he had no preference.
The Catholic Church is yet to announce the next Pope after the death of Francis.
