Ex-Google techie of Indian origin shot dead in US home, husband arrested
Couple’s 23-year-old son found outside house with gunshot injuries; police term it an incident of domestic dispute
An Indian-origin woman who was a former employee at Google was allegedly shot dead by her husband following a domestic dispute at their residence in Cobb County, Georgia.
Reports said the couple’s 23-year-old son also sustained gunshot injuries.

Sheetal Wrzesien, the 57-year-old victim, was a senior engineering manager at Google.
Husband in custody, son in hospital
According to local media, Sheetal’s husband, Kirk B Wrzesien, was arrested on Tuesday (July 7) night. He faces one count of murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Fox5Atlanta said he is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
According to Cobb County Police, officers, upon reaching the house following an alert, found the couple’s son Jason lying injured outside and Sheetal inside. Jason was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Domestic dispute likely trigger, say police
Police confirmed that this was a domestic violence incident and there was no danger to the public.
The couple also has a daughter named Jessica.

Investigators are yet to find the specific circumstances that led to the gunfire inside the house.
A neighbour of the couple who spoke to Atlananewsfirst described Kirk as a sociable and “really nice guy.”
Police have yet to provide more details on the incident or an update on Jason’s condition.

Sheetal was an engineering leader at Google with over 20 years of experience.
Before Google, she worked for HomeDepot.com, where she helped expand the company’s home décor and furnishing business.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Sheetal specialised in creating groundbreaking technological solutions across various sectors, including e-commerce, martech, media and weathertech.

Her expertise lay in strategic leadership, organisational transformation, mobile and web technologies, marketing technology and e-commerce.
A co-inventor on two software patents, she served on the advisory board of the Georgia Institute of Technology College of Computing.
Sheetal grew up in England, India and Ghana and moved to the US to study computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
