'Israel should target Iran's nuclear sites first,' says Trump, disagreeing with Biden

Republican presidential nominee Trump said that ‘soon the Iranians are going to have nuclear weapons, and then you’re going to have problems’

Republican presidential candidate and former American president Donald Trump on Friday (October 4) said that in his opinion Israel should strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities in response to the 200 missiles the Islamic Republic had launched at Israel recently.

Trump was speaking at a presidential campaign event in North Carolina, addressing a town hall meeting in Fayetteville near a major military base.

He referred to President Joe Biden’s response when someone asked him about the possibility of Israel attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“They asked him, what do you think about Iran, would you hit Iran? And he goes, ‘As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff’,” Trump told the audience.

“That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard,” said Trump. “That’s the thing you want to hit, right?”

Biden has got it wrong: Trump

Trump said Biden had got it wrong. He said since the nuclear weapons were the biggest risk, that is what should be targeted.

“When they asked him that question, the answer should have been, hit the nuclear first, and worry about the rest later,” continued the Republican presidential nominee.

“That was the craziest answer because, you know what? Soon, they’re going to have nuclear weapons. And then you’re going to have problems,” Trump said.

Trump said we would soon find out what kind of response Israel had in mind.

On Wednesday (October 2), President Biden said they would be discussing with the Israelis what they were going to do.

“All the G7 members agree that Israel has a right to respond, but they should respond in proportion,” said Biden.

Trump criticises Biden and Harris

The former president criticised President Biden and his current rival in the presidential race Vice President Kamala Harris, saying the attack would not have happened if he had been the commander-in-chief.

He said if Harris wins in November, “the world goes up in smoke”.

“I’ve been talking about World War III for a long time, and I don’t want to make predictions because the predictions always come true. But they are very close to global catastrophe,” said Trump.
