India has urged Russia and Ukraine to move towards ending the war. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised Vladimir Putin to move from “endless war” to the “end of war”, while Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has told Volodymyr Zelensky that India would help in any way possible.

But, can India go beyond advice and actually mediate between Moscow and Kyiv?
