Hezbollah launches missiles into Tel Aviv, Haifa as Israel fights battles on multiple fronts

Hezbollah targeted the Israeli port city of Haifa and a military base near Tel Aviv with missile attacks even as Israel claimed on Tuesday (October 8) that it conducted a precise, intelligence-based strike in Beirut, Lebanon and eliminated Suhail Hussein Hussaini, the commander of Hezbollah’s headquarters.
It said that Hussaini was in charge of logistics and budgeting of the group’s most-sensitive projects.
Israel targets Beirut with air strikes
On the one-year anniversary of the deadly attacks and taking of Israeli hostages by Hamas, Israel continued to target the Lebanese capital with air strikes on Monday night (October 7) as explosions lit the sky. The nightly strikes on Beirut by Israel have been continuing since September 27.

Israel’s military said its air force bombed several targets in south Lebanon. Air strikes by Israel have displaced about 1.2 million people in Lebanon during the past month.
About 2,000 Lebanese have been killed in the confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah in the present conflict.
Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis launch strikes at Israel
Israel intercepted strikes launched by Hamas from Gaza, Hezbollah from Lebanon, and the Houthis from Yemen as the Jewish nation battled on different fronts.
Hezbollah said it targeted a military base south of Haifa with “Fadi 1” missiles and also struck Tiberias. Israel’s military said about 190 missiles entered its territory and at least 12 people were injured.

Ceremonies and protests mark anniversary in Israel
Israelis held ceremonies and protests to mark the first anniversary of the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 by the Gaza-based militant group Hamas.
“Israel will continue to fight,” vowed Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Will rise like a phoenix: Hamas
Hamas on Monday vowed to “rise like a phoenix” despite suffering heavy losses during the past one year of fighting and being witness to the large-scale destruction in the territory of Gaza.
The militant outfit promised to wage a war of attrition.

Iran warns Israel against attacks
Iran has warned Israel against launching any attacks against it, one week after the Islamic Republic fired about 200 missiles on the Jewish country.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said any attack on Iran’s infrastructure would be met with retaliation.
After the attack by Iran, Israel had said that it would decide how to respond in due time.
