National Cinema Day: Movie tickets to cost only Rs 99 on October 13

The Multiplex Association of India announced that this special pricing would be available in more than 4,000 screens across India

Friday the 13th is generally considered to be unlucky, for whatever reason. But not tomorrow. If you like to watch movies in the theatre, then rush and book your tickets in your favourite multiplex for tomorrow. Tickets will be priced at only ₹99 in multiplexes across India on Friday (October 13) in celebration of National Cinema Day, announced The Multiplex Association of India last month.

In a tweet on X on September 21, 2023, the association said, “National Cinema Day is back on October 13th. Join us at over 4000+ screens across India for an incredible cinematic experience, with movie tickets priced at just Rs. 99. It's the perfect day to enjoy your favorite films with friends and family.”

The association said this ticket pricing would be available at multiplexes across the country including Cinepolis, PVR Inox, Wave, Asian, Citypride, Miraj, and several others.

They also said that there would be attractive offers on food and beverages. But there is a caveat. Viewers are advised to check the respective websites or social media handles of multiplexes to know whether they are offering this special deal.

Viewers should also be aware that tickets for premium seating options or recliner seats may not be part of this deal.

Last year, some theatres and multiplexes in certain states were unable to participate in the National Cinema Day celebrations in India because of state regulations regarding ticket pricing.

"This special occasion brings audiences of all ages together for a day of cinematic bliss, celebrating the incredible success of multiple films at the box office this year. It's a heartfelt "thank you" to all the moviegoers who contributed to this success and an open invitation to those who haven't yet returned to their local cinema," the association said on X.

After a couple of years of struggle during and post Covid, the movie business in India has picked up this year with several big hits. What better way to celebrate than to sit down in air-conditioned comfort with caramel popcorn and a cool drink for company as you watch one of the latest blockbusters on the big screen?
