‘Don’t waste time…’: Prashant Kishor’s advice to public after exit polls predict NDA win
Poll strategist reiterates that there seems to be no widespread discontent with the current BJP administration, nor a compelling demand for an alternative
Soon after exit polls predicted a landslide victory for the BJP-led NDA, poll strategist Prashant Kishor advised the public to not waste their time on “useless discussion” and “analyses” by “fake journalists, loudmouth politicians, and self-proclaimed social media experts”.
Taking to X on Sunday (June 2), Kishor wrote, “Next time there's talk of elections and politics, don't waste your valuable time on the useless discussions and analyses of idle fake journalists, loudmouth politicians, and self-proclaimed social media experts.”
Strong showing for BJP
Kishor had earlier indicated that the BJP's performance would likely remain steady or improve slightly, especially in regions like western and northern India, while also suggesting potential political gains in eastern and southern states where the party had been actively expanding its influence.
Exit polls from various sources painted a similar picture, projecting a strong showing for the NDA, with the BJP potentially surpassing its previous tally.
Should these projections materialise, Modi would join the ranks of Jawaharlal Nehru as a three-term prime minister.
Despite varying predictions among different pollsters, there was a consensus on the NDA's dominance, with some even foreseeing the alliance making inroads into previously uncharted territories like Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
‘No widespread discontent with BJP’
Reflecting on his earlier assessments, Kishor reiterated that there seemed to be no widespread discontent with the current BJP administration, nor a compelling demand for an alternative.
In his view, this lack of widespread dissatisfaction signalled a likely continuation of Modi's leadership.
With the vote count scheduled for June 4, the anticipation and speculation surrounding the outcome of the election continued to mount.
