‘Truth sparked panic in Congress’: Modi reiterates ‘wealth redistribution’ claim
“I put the truth before the country that Congress is hatching a conspiracy to snatch your property and distribute it among its special people,” Modi says in Tonk
Even as the Congress lodged a complaint with the Election Commission over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “redistribution of wealth” remarks at a Rajasthan rally, he reiterated the same claim at another rally in the state on Tuesday (April 23). Modi claimed that the Congress was “hatching a deep conspiracy” to snatch people’s property and “distribute it among its special people”.
Addressing a public meeting in Tonk, Modi claimed his speech had sparked “panic” in the Congress and the Opposition INDIA bloc.
“Congress hatching conspiracy”
“When I came to Rajasthan the day before yesterday, I had presented some truths before the country in my 90-second speech. This has created panic in the entire Congress and INDIA. I had put the truth before the country that the Congress is hatching a deep conspiracy to snatch your property and distribute it among its special people. I exposed their vote bank and appeasement politics. After all, why is Congress so afraid of the truth?” Modi said.
PM Modi also listed what all would have happened if the Congress had formed the government at the Centre in 2014. According to him, stones would have been pelted at the armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir even today, enemies would have come from across the border, the One Rank One Pension scheme would not have been implemented for soldiers, and ex-servicemen would not have received Rs 1 lakh crore.
Modi’s guarantee
The Congress has always focused on appeasement and vote-bank politics, the PM claimed. “As soon as the Congress government was formed at the Centre in 2004, its first task was to reduce the reservation for SC/ST in Andhra Pradesh and give reservation to Muslims,” Modi said, adding that it was a pilot project the Congress had intended to implement in the entire country.
“Between 2004 and 2010, Congress tried to implement Muslim reservations in Andhra Pradesh four times. But due to legal hurdles and the Supreme Court, it could not,” Modi said, adding that the Constitution is “completely against it”.
The Congress and INDIA bloc wanted to give the rights of Dalits, backward classes, and tribals to Muslims, based on religion, but he would never let it happen, Modi said. “Modi is today guaranteeing you from an open platform that reservations for Dalits, backward classes and tribals will neither be ended nor will be allowed to be divided in the name of religion. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he added.
