Has Congress lost the Hindi Heartland plot with its 2nd list of candidates?

The Congress on Tuesday, March 12, announced its second list of candidates. While it has convinced senior leaders such as Bhupesh Baghel, Tamradhwaj Sahu, and KC Venugopal to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the party high command appears to be having a tough time getting Congress warhorses in other states to face the electoral battle. This is especially so in the Hindi belt, where the Congress will be directly pitted against the BJP. How do we read this situation?
