Delhi police refuse to accept CPI(M) complaint against PM Modi
The prime minister on Sunday suggested that if the Congress comes to power, it would redistribute the wealth of people to Muslims
CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat and Delhi State Secretariat member Pushpinder Singh Grewal on Monday (April 22) made an unsuccessful attempt to lodge a complaint with the SHO, Mandir Marg police station, New Delhi, against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "promoting enmity between groups and making statements that are prejudicial to national integration".
Mandir Marg police station refused to accept the complaint, following which it has been sent to the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. The CPI(M) has also released the text of the letter on its official X handle.
Citing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's alleged remark that the minority community had the first claim on India’s resources, PM Narendra Modi on Sunday (April 21) suggested that if the Congress comes to power, it would redistribute the wealth of people to Muslims.
Modi, addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara, alleged the Congress plans to give people's hard-earned money and valuables to "infiltrators" and "those who have more children".
