Re-evaluation portal functioned properly during June 2-7 application window: CBSE
CBSE says its verification and re-evaluation portal functioned smoothly from June 2–7, with over 1.6 lakh students successfully submitting requests
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday (June 8) stated that its Application Window for Verification and Re-evaluation functioned properly during the time when it remained open from June 2 to June 7. The clarification comes at a time when a section of students and parents have questioned the functioning of the verification and re-evaluation process.
‘Portal functioned properly’
Elaborating further, the CBSE stated that throughout the notified period, the process was constantly monitored by government technical agencies and teams from the IITs.
“The Application Window for Verification and Re-evaluation remained fully functional throughout the notified period from 2 June 2026 to 7 June 2026 under the supervision and management of government technical agencies and teams from the IITs. During the above application period, more than 1.6 lakh candidates successfully submitted requests pertaining to over 3.8 lakh answer books, reflecting the extensive utilisation of the services by the candidates,” stated the CBSE in a post on X.
‘Under continuous monitoring’
“The system remained under continuous monitoring by dedicated cybersecurity teams throughout the operational period to prevent malicious traffic and cyber threats. Dedicated CBSE teams also provided proactive support to students submitting their applications through its helpdesk and grievance redressal channels,” it added.
The Board further stated that students were assisted throughout the application process by dedicated CBSE teams through helpdesk services and grievance redressal channels.
Clarification on error message
Responding to reports circulating in sections of the media as well as on social media regarding the functioning of the Post-Result Services Portal, CBSE sought to clarify concerns raised by some students and parents.
According to the Board, the message "Roll Number Not Found" was displayed only in cases where a candidate had not successfully completed the application process during the initial stage of post-result services, namely the Answer Books Photocopy Application Window.
"To clarify doubts of some of these students and parents, it is informed that the message 'Roll Number Not Found' is displayed when a candidate had not successfully applied during the first phase of the Post-Result Services process, namely the Answer Books Photocopy Application Window," CBSE said.
Eligibility for re-evaluation
The Board also reiterated that eligibility for the subsequent stages of verification and re-evaluation was restricted to candidates who had applied for scanned copies of their answer books during the earlier phase.
"As clearly outlined earlier, only those candidates who had applied for their scanned answer books during the preceding stage (Answer Books Photocopy) were eligible to avail the subsequent stage of Verification of Issues Observed and Re-evaluation of Answers," it added.
CBSE further asserted that it remains committed to maintaining a transparent and student-focused post-result mechanism. The Board said it continues to address genuine concerns raised by candidates through its grievance redressal system, helpline support and other communication channels.
"CBSE remains committed to ensuring a transparent, student-centric and seamless post-result process. The Board continues to address all genuine student concerns through its grievance redressal mechanisms, helpline support and other communication channels," the Board stated.
