In July 2023, the telecom industry added 3.6 million more active users, recovering from a loss of 0.5 million in June. While Vodafone lost 400,000 users, Bharti Airtel and Jio gained 3.2 million and 1.4 million, respectively. For the 16th month in a row, Jio added the most total users, with 3.9 million new ones. Bharti added 1.5 million, but Vodaphone lost 1.3 million.
In total, the industry grew by 2.7 million users.
In the wireless internet user space, Jio led with an increase of 3.9 million, Bharti added 2.9 million, but Vodafone lost 600,000. On wired internet, Jio was also ahead, adding 230,000 subscribers. As Jio and Bharti keep expanding their 5G services, everyone is watching to see when they'll increase prices. Vodafone urgently needs more funds to invest and prevent further loss of customers. The industry grew by 2.7 million users in one month. Jio had the biggest growth, followed by Bharti Airtel. Vodafone's user base decreased for the 28th consecutive month by 1.3 million.
