The company said, “More than half of job candidates today say they miss postings because they don’t know which filters or job titles to use. LinkedIn is reimagining the job search with AI. Instead of starting with keywords, job seekers can express what they want in plain language. Our AI understands and interprets the meaning behind their searches and delivers the most relevant results.”

How it works

In a post, Tomer Cohen, Chief Product Officer at LinkedIn, explained how AI-powered job search works.

“We believe your job search should be intuitive, not frustrating. More than half of job seekers miss relevant opportunities because they don't know which filters to use. Our new AI-powered job search flips the script: you can now simply express what you want in your own words. Whether you're saying, "I want to use my brand marketing skills to help cure cancer" or "I'm looking for business development roles in the video games industry," our AI interprets your intent and delivers precise end aligned results,” he wrote.

Further, he said, “AI is fundamentally reshaping jobs and skills faster than we’ve ever experienced before. Within less than five years, approximately 70% of us will need to acquire new skills to stay competitive in the workforce. More than 10% of job titles today didn’t even exist a couple of decades ago, from Prompt Engineers and Cloud Architects to Social Media Managers or SEO Specialists.”

Finding relevant opportunities

“At LinkedIn, our goal is to help you successfully navigate these rapid changes, find your ideal next role, accelerate your career, or help you grow your business,” he added.

The new AI-powered feature also helps users zero in on the most relevant opportunities, he said. “More than a third of job seekers struggle to determine if they're a strong match for a job. Our new and improved job match feature transparently shows your compatibility level with each listing, making it easier to zero in on the most relevant opportunities. Premium subscribers gain even deeper insights, including job match ratings and actionable suggestions for standing out in an increasingly competitive job market.”
