Elon Musk’s son has an Indian connection. Find out what

Musk and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis welcomed their twins, their first children together, in November 2021. They are named Strider and Azure.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Thursday (November 2) met the world’s richest person Elon Musk in the UK during the two-day AI Safety Summit and the meeting revealed Musk’s son’s Indian connection.

Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for IT, posted a picture of their meeting on X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform owned by Musk.

During their meeting, Chandrasekhar came to know that one of Musk’s sons is named after Indian-American physicist and Nobel laureate Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar.

Musk and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis welcomed their twins, their first children together, in November 2021. In September this year, Time magazine confirmed the names of Musk-Zilis’ twins – Strider and Azure.

While only their first names were revealed at the time, now Union Minister Chandrasekhar posted that Musk’s son with Zilis, who is an AI specialist, has a middle name of Chandrasekhar.

“Look who i bumped into at #AISafetySummit at Bletchley Park, UK. @elonmusk shared that his son with @shivon has a middle name "Chandrasekhar" - named after 1983 Nobel physicist Prof S Chandrasekhar,” posted Chandrasekhar.

Musk has 11 children with three different women. In September this year, author Walter Isaacson, who has written a biography on Musk, shared Musk-Zilis with their twins.

Meanwhile, minister Chandrasekhar will bring the Indian perspective on harnessing artificial intelligence for the benefit of citizens at the AI Safety Summit, which opened on Wednesday.

Hosted by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, the home of modern computing where celebrated British mathematician Alan Turing’s team broke the Enigma code, the summit is bringing together representatives from 27 countries.

Besides, businesses, civil society, and AI experts, tech billionaire Elon Musk and OpenAI’s Sam Altman, will participate in the first global summit of its kind to discuss the global future of AI and its risks.

“Look forward to discuss ways in which Artificial Intelligence can be harnessed to transform lives of citizens, catalyse the Digital Economy while ensuring safety and trust of Digital Nagriks (sic),” Chandrasekhar had said in a post on X.

The historic Bletchley Park venue has been chosen for its tech significance as the base where the Enigma code was cracked to turn the tide of World War II in favour of Britain.
