Telangana | BRS manifesto: KCR promises Rs 3,000 per month for women, gas cylinder at Rs 400
KCR has promised that the amount being paid for the farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme will be increased from the existing Rs 10,000 per year to Rs 16,000 per year in a phased manner.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on Sunday (October 15) released the party's manifesto for the State Assembly polls scheduled for November 30.
Here are the major promises made by the BRS in its manifesto.
KCR Bima
A life insurance scheme, called KCR Bima, provides life insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh for every ration card holder in Telangana. The State government will pay the entire premium to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). It will be implemented with the slogan ‘KCR Bima Prati Intiki Dheema’. KCR said it will benefit 93 lakh families in the state.
Fine rice for poor
Telangana government will dispense with the supply of coarse rice. Fine rice (sanna biyyam) will be supplied to all ration card holders in the State under a scheme called Telangana Annapurna.
Increase in Rythu Bandhu's amount
KCR has promised that the amount being paid for the farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme will be increased from the existing Rs 10,000 per year to Rs 16,000 per year in a phased manner. It will be increased to Rs 12,000 in the next financial year and thereafter, it will be increased every year gradually up to Rs 16,000.
Aasara Pension
Social security pensions under the scheme will be increased from the existing Rs 2,016 to Rs 5,000 in a phased manner. The pensions for differently-abled persons will go up from Rs 4,016 to Rs 6,000.
Rs 400 LPG cylinder
KCR has promised to provide LPG cylinders at a subsidised price of Rs 400 for poor women as well as accredited journalists of the State.
Honorarium to women
The BRS manifesto has promised to provide a monthly honorarium of Rs 3,000 under the Saubhagya Lakshmi scheme for women from poorer sections.
Arogyasri premium
Upon the formation of the BRS government after the elections, the coverage limit for healthcare under the Aarogyasri scheme will be hiked to Rs 15 lakh from the existing Rs 10 lakh, the party has promised.
2 BHK houses
The next BRS government will construct more double-bedroom (2 BHK) houses. 1 lakh more double bedroom houses will come up in Hyderabad. Financial support under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme will be extended for those who own house sites across the State.
More residential schools
The manifesto promises to set up 119 Gurukul (residential welfare) schools for the economically backward classes from upper castes as well. They will be established at the rate of one school per every Assembly segment There are 119 Assembly constituencies in the State.
