Priyanka Gandhi’s campaign visit to Mizoram cancelled

"Due to unavoidable reasons, we are informing that Priyanka Gandhi's visit stands cancelled," a Congress spokesman said in Aizawl.


Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's day-long election campaign on Friday in Mizoram has been cancelled “due to unavoidable reasons”, the party announced on Thursday.

"Due to unavoidable reasons, we are informing that Priyanka Gandhi's visit stands cancelled. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused," a Congress spokesman said in Aizawl.

The Congress general secretary was to address a small gathering of people at the Treasury Square in Aizawl on Friday afternoon and address a public meeting at Kawrtethawveng in Mamit district.

The Congress is contesting all the 40 Assembly seats in the November 7 election in Mizoram. It won five seats in 2018.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Mizoram for two days in October.
