Kaleshwaram project is KCR’s ATM; Cong will return looted money to people: Rahul
Rahul also told residents of Ambatipalli village, close to the Kaleshwaram project, that the Congress would bring in a people’s government as opposed to ‘KCR’s feudal government’
Women in Telangana can benefit up to ₹4,000 if the Congress is voted to power in the November 30 assembly polls, party leader Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday (November 2).
Rahul said the benefits would come in the form of social pension, savings on LPG cylinder and free travel in government buses.
Addressing a women's gathering at Ambatipalli village near Medigadda (Laxmi) barrage of Kaleshwaram project, he also said the Congress has decided to "give back" all the money allegedly "looted" by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
"Telangana women were the most affected by the loot of the chief minister here. The Congress party has decided to deposit the amount looted by the chief minister in your bank accounts," Rahul said.
"You know that there is election in Telangana and the contest is between 'Dorala' Telangana (feudal Telangana) and the public. This place has the biggest symbol of 'Dorala' Telangana, I wanted to see this with my own eyes. ₹1 lakh crore was stolen from the people of Telangana here. Nobody here benefitted from it. Our workers are right that Kaleshwaram is BRS's ATM but change it to 'Kaleshwaram is KCR's ATM, it is his family's ATM,” the Congress leader said.
He said, under the Congress’ policy, every month, ₹2,500 will be deposited as social pension into women’s bank accounts. Also, ₹1,500 will be saved as the Congress, if voted to power, will supply a LPG cylinder, which is now costing ₹1,000, at ₹500 and another ₹1,000 by way of free travel on government buses.
"With all these you will benefit ₹4,000 every month. This is called Parajala sarkar (people's government)," he said.
"MIM and BJP are supporting BRS. So you will have to support Congress fully to remove Dorala sarkar (feudal regime) and establish Parajala sarkar (people’s regime)," he said.
Rahul’s visit comes on the day the Income Tax Department is conducting raids at 10 places in Hyderabad including on the premises of Congress leader Parijatha Narasimha Reddy.
