'Fired without reason': BYJU’S employee recounts horror on LinkedIn
Rajshree Dhar, a content developer with BYJU'S, said she was doing her work like any other day when she was suddenly called for a meeting and told that she has been fired
Education major BYJU’s, which allegedly laid off 2,500 employees, is in the news again. A former employee of the company recently shared her ordeal after being terminated, having worked with the company for four months.
“I have been fired from BYJU’S after working for four months without stating a proper reason,” wrote Rajshree Dhar, a former content developer with BYJU’S, in her LinkedIn post.
Dhar said she was doing her work like any other day when she was suddenly called for a meeting at 3:15 pm. During the meeting, she was told that she has been fired due to the company’s decision to downsize the team.
“My manager and team members were also surprised by the same, none of them had any idea this would happen.”
“The HR told me that my last working day is tomorrow, i.e., June 30. I was devastated after hearing this as we all know the market situation is not good and finding a proper job is more difficult than we think,” she wrote.

The news disturbed Rajshree as she hadn’t even completed six months with the organization. She said she wouldn’t have anything valuable to show to the next organisation that she seeks to join.
‘Bad work environment’
She said it was unethical to treat an employee like this. “Being unemployed is something nobody ever wants to go through,” Dhar wrote. She then talked about the company’s work culture and how BYJU’S is known for its bad work environment.
Rajshree ended the post by saying she has sympathy for all those people who had to face such hard times.
Dhar’s post drew comments from other users. One of the comments was by Aarti Kansil, a Senior Content Associate at BYJU’S from September 2019 to July 2021.
Kansil wrote: “Hello Rajshree, this has been their tactic for some time now. Overnight firings without explanation to anyone. Seek out other such souls and each story is full of pain. Wishing you a good luck in search for better opportunities. There is something better for you in the world.” (sic)
