COVID: Kanyakumari MP remains on ventilator support, says TNCC chief

Congress MP and noted businessman H Vasanthakumar, who had tested positive for COVID-19 last week, remains on ventilator support, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president KS Alagiri said on Monday (August 17).

Talking to reporters, Alagiri said he wished Vasanthakumar recovered soon. The Lok Sabha member from Kanyakumari is undergoing treatment for the disease at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. Vasanthakumar’s wife too had tested positive for COVID-19.

Already another Congress MP from Sivagangai in Tamil Nadu, Karthi Chidambaram, had contracted COVID-19. CPI MP from Nagapattinam, M Selvarasu; and DMK MP from Mayiladuthurai, Ramalingam, had also tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.
