In a callous display of behaviour, a 70-year-old coronavirus patient, who died in Punjab on March 18, is alleged to have infected at least 23 others in the state.

In a callous display of behaviour, a 70-year-old coronavirus patient, who died in Punjab on March 18, is alleged to have infected at least 23 others in the state.

The total tally of the state now stands at 33.

The gurudwara priest, had returned from Germany and Italy after a two-week tour and had defied self-quarantine rules amid coronavirus and socialised heavily earlier this month.

After arriving in Delhi on March 6, he drove to Punjab where he met close to 100 people before testing positive for coronavirus.

He is also believed to have visited 15 villages across the state.

In his family itself, 14 have tested positive including his granddaughter and grandson who each met scores of people.

According to reports, officials are going from village to village tracing every part who may have been exposed to COVID-19 because of the reckless socialising of the three men.
