Five persons, including three minors, have been reportedly booked in Madhya Pradesh for a Facebook post mocking the way Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar wore his mask during a meeting on April 24.
According to a report by The Wire, the accused were identified as Ajay Pratap Singh Sikarwar and Aman Singh. The identity of the minors cannot be revealed.
All the accused were residents of Jaura village in Morena, the constituency of the Union agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister. They have been charged under sections 188 and 505(2) of the IPC and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the report said.
The Facebook post now has been deleted, according to a Huffpost report. Tomar was seen in the post wearing his mask under his nose during a meeting with the Panchayat leaders on April 24, it said.
“This is the real way to wear mask, learn something. This is shri shri 1008 Narendra Singh Tomar (Pahad). Brother, this is not an underwear. Someone explain it to him,” the post read in Hindi.
As per the report by The Wire, the FIR was registered on May 3 following a complaint lodged by Yash Sharma, a BJP worker. It said the push to register a case came from Morena SP Asit Yadav.
